Breasts have many meanings in
our lives. They are symbolic of our
femininity, our sexuality, and our ability
to nurture children. This symbolism, and
the experiences and sensitivities that
result from it, can cause us to overlook
the fact that our breasts are body tissues
with ordinary tissue needs.
Society
around us often helps reinforce ambivalent
feelings about our breasts and breast
care.
Yet most women at some time experience
symptoms like congestion and tenderness in
our breasts. Many of us have breast trauma
or medical procedures for cosmetic,
diagnostic, or treatment purposes. Life
cycle changes are associated with a
variety of breast discomforts. Massage
therapy is a gentle and effective way to
promote breast health and help relieve
breast tissue symptoms.
Dawn gets so much out of
volunteering her time and talents to
several different breast cancer groups,
which has inspired her to reach out to
teach and facilitate women about post
surgery soft tissue care. Her
findings upon working with women with
mastectomies, breast augmentation
problems, and those in the midst of chemo
and cancer has been eye opening for both
her and her clients. It's apparent
that there is no care for women after
surgery.
Many
women, who have had breast surgery of any
sort, have soft tissue and structural
discomfort & problems do to lack of
education of post care in the forms of
soft tissue work, physical therapy or
rehabilitation.
It is Dawn's goal to motivate,
facilitate and educate women with her
knowledge, skills, and experience. In
an effort to show women how to regain
confidence in there amazing powerful
feminine bodies, thru the positive and
compassionate touch of massage
therapy.
Dawn is open to speaking and
sharing with breast cancer groups,
women's groups, health clinics and
individuals who have questions about post
cancer treatments, post mastectomy care,
and any type of breast augmentation
inquires. Please feel free to
contact her @ 949-923-9999.
